• El pasacalles que conquistará al público y lo instalará en un ambiente propio de los cuentos infantiles se presentará de manera gratuita entre el 15 y el 19 de enero a las 21.00 horas.

• La extensión en la IV Región del Festival Internacional Santiago a Mil es posible a través del Festival de las Artes Región de Coquimbo, ARC 2013, del Consejo Nacional de la Cultura y las Artes.

Santiago, 14 de enero de 2013.- Gracias al respaldo del Consejo de la Cultura y las Artes, y del Gobierno Regional de Coquimbo la extensión Teatro a Mil llegará hasta la IV región por segundo año consecutivo. Invitada por el Festival de las Artes de Coquimbo, la iniciativa continúa fortaleciendo el vínculo con el público y descentralizando la actividad artística y cultural fuera de la capital.

En 2012 fueron más de 30 mil personas que vibraron con la presencia de Dragones en la zona, seres mitológicos de gran altura que se tomaron las calles con su fuego transformando las ciudades en un gran carnaval. Este año continuará la fiesta el espectáculo El Druida de Jagul de la compañía española Carros de Foc. Ellos serán los encargados de recorrer las principales avenidas, invitando a todos sus habitantes a ser parte del show gratuito. Un guardián de castillo junto a jóvenes doncellas, ayudantes de laboratorio, árboles y una banda musical acompañarán al enorme Druida.

Serán cinco días de presentaciones y cinco ciudades a las que arribarán. La primera presentación de la compañía será el martes 15 de enero en Illapel, luego continuará el miércoles 16 en Salamanca, el jueves 17 en Ovalle, el viernes 18 en La Higuera para cerrar el sábado 19 de enero en La Serena. El pasacalle comenzará en todas las ciudades a las 21.00 horas (en anexo recorridos detallados).

Para Carmen Romero, Directora Ejecutiva de la Fundación Teatro a Mil, es muy significativo llegar a regiones y continuar con la tarea de descentralización de las artes y la cultura. “Agradecemos al Festival de las Artes de Coquimbo por esta invitación. Sin duda, contribuye a lo que muchos anhelamos, llegar a más rincones de nuestro país y fortalecer el vínculo que sostenemos con el público. Esperamos que la Compañía Carros de Foc maraville a todos con su trabajo”.

La compañía española que llegará a la IV región fue creada en 1994 por Miguel Ángel Martín, hijo de artistas falleros de larga tradición y reconocido prestigio. Se caracterizan por sus esculturas gigantes móviles, las cuales destacan por la calidad y realismo de sus acabados. Ese trabajo es acompañado por diferentes disciplinas artísticas, como acrobacias de tela y aro, equilibrismo, coreografías rítmicas con abanicos de fuego, interpretación, música, cine o video, creando espectáculos itinerantes para el espacio público.

La compañía ha representado a España en diferentes festivales de teatro de calle, como el 10º aniversario del Festival Mawazine, el más importante del Magreb, que se celebra  en Rabat. La buena acogida de los espectáculos de Carros de Foc ha propiciado que la compañía haya representado sus obras en Portugal, Francia, Italia, Holanda, Rumania, Marruecos, China, Brasil y Chile.

ANEXO

La danza festiva de un grupo de aldeanas abre este espectáculo, ubicando al público en un ambiente propio de los cuentos infantiles. A continuación se escucha la voz del narrador, hablando de un sabio y poderoso druida que habita los bosques de Jagul, famoso por sus magistrales pócimas milenarias. Las jóvenes doncellas del cuerpo de baile intentarán hacerse con la pócima de la juventud, pero los ayudantes del druida lograrán disuadirlas. Al final se desata una gran fiesta organizada por un grupo de música en vivo que contagiará al público con sus canciones.

La Higuera: Viernes 18 de enero 21.00 hrs. Comienza en el Parque Municipal, sube por la calle, rodea la plaza y finaliza en la explanada al costado del Parque Municipal.

La Serena: Sábado 19 de enero 21.00 hrs. Comienza en Av. del Mar frente al Casino Enjoy y termina en Av. del Mar esquina Los Lúcumos, frente al Restaurante Huentelauquén.

• Una decena de espectáculos, nacionales e internacionales, de teatro, danza y música -además de actividades extra programáticas asociadas al Festival, como charlas y talleres con directores-, se toman las calles de las regiones de Arica y Parinacota, Tarapacá, Antofagasta, Coquimbo, Valparaíso, Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins y Bío Bío.
•  Por primera vez en su historia, el Festival Internacional Santiago a Mil llega a las ciudades de Arica, Illapel, La Higuera y Rancagua, para sorprender a sus habitantes con parte de la programación del evento que se extenderá hasta el 27 de enero en regiones.

08 de enero 2013. Hace 20 años, Fundación Teatro a Mil se propuso como objetivo descentralizar la cultura y facilitar el acceso a los bienes de excelencia para todo el público chileno. Así nació Festival Internacional Santiago a Mil, que gracias a la exhibición de espectaculares y renombrados montajes nacionales e internacionales, en sala o en calle, se ha transformado en la fiesta de las artes escénicas más importante del país.

Bajo el eslogan En la medida de lo imposible, Festival Santiago a Mil vuelve a tomarse diferentes calles de Chile en el mes de enero, para celebrar su vigésimo aniversario y reafirmar su compromiso con la cultura y las artes. Gracias a la visita de directores y artistas de la escena mundial, además del talento de las compañías nacionales que exhibirán sus montajes a la ciudadanía, un total de siete regiones podrán disfrutar de la mayor oferta cultural del año, ellas son Arica y Parinacota, Tarapacá, Antofagasta, Coquimbo, Valparaíso, Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins y Bío Bío.

Al igual que en años anteriores, el Festival lleva gratuitamente lo mejor de su programación a regiones, haciendo parte de esta actividad a los habitantes de Antofagasta, Iquique, Alto Hospicio, La Serena, Salamanca, Valparaíso, Viña del Mar y Concepción. Pero como novedad, en 2013 se suma tres nuevas ciudades al calendario, como lo son Arica, Illapel, La Higuera y Rancagua, que por primera vez goza de espectáculos teatro, danza y música con el sello de Teatro a Mil.

Próximamente, también se anunciará la programación completa de Teatro a Mil en Bío Bío, que sumará nuevas ciudades, incluso algunas que nunca antes han formado parte del Festival.

Siete espectáculos internacionales, de sala y calle, son los que se están presentando  por casi todo el país: El Druida de Jagul, La Ópera de Beijing – Esencia de la cultura china, Las Jirafas y Swoon! Las compañías nacionales aporta con otros seis montajes: Brigadas, Entre gallos y medianoche, Circo de A’onde, El hombre que daba de beber a las mariposas, y las regionales Las tragedias se las dejamos a Shakespeare (Valparaíso), El Pájaro de Chile (Concepción) y Baile ausente de un Arcángel (Antofagasta). Todas estas obras ofrecen más de 30 funciones por gran parte del territorio nacional.

Teniendo a Francia como país invitado de honor, el Festival Teatro a Mil celebra veinte años de historia alcanzando la impresionante cifra de más de 1.000 espectáculos exhibidos en sus dos décadas (en 19 festivales se han presentado 729 espectáculos nacionales y 220 espectáculos internacionales) y con más de ocho millones de espectadores. Esta edición extiende aún más su presencia en regiones y ciudades del país.

Las extensiones a regiones son posibles gracias a las alianzas que se han establecido con las empresas Quiborax y  E-CL  (Teatro a Mil en Arica), BHP Billiton Pampa Norte (Iquique a Mil), Mienera Escondida (Antof. a Mil) y Banco BCI (Teatro a Mil en Valpo)

Además, las presentaciones en las ciudades son acogidas a la Ley de Donaciones culturales, cuentan con el apoyo del Consejo Nacional de la Cultura y las Artes y con la colaboración de las municipalidades de sus respectivas comunas.

• More than a dozen theater, dance and musical acts, both national and international, as well as festival-related extracurricular activities such as lectures and workshops with directors, will take to the streets of regions Arica y Parinacota, Tarapacá, Antofagasta, Coquimbo, Valparaíso, Metropolitan, Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins and Bío Bío.
•  For the first time in its twenty-year history, the Santiago a Mil International Festival will arrive to the cities of Arica, Illapel, La Higuera and Rancagua, to delight people living in the regions with part of the event’s program that will last until January 27^th.

January 8, 2013. Twenty years ago, the Fundación Teatro a Mil set out to decentralize culture and ensure all Chilean people with easier access to quality performing arts. These were the premises under which the Santiago a Mil International Festival was created, and thanks to the exhibition of renowned and spectacular national and international productions, whether on the streets or in theaters, it has become the most important fiesta of the performing arts in the country.

Under the motto, As far as impossible, the Santiago a Mil Festival will once again take to the streets of Chile in January to celebrate its twentieth anniversary and reaffirm its commitment with culture and the arts. Thanks to visiting directors and artists from the world scenario, as well as talented national companies that will showcase their productions to the citizens, a total of eight regions will be able to enjoy the greatest cultural display of the year. These regions are Arica y Parinacota, Tarapacá, Antofagasta, Coquimbo, Valparaíso, Metropolitan, Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins and Bío Bío.

As in previous years, the Festival will be taking the best of its program to regions, with an open invitation to participate for the people in Antofagasta, Iquique, Alto Hospicio, La Serena, Salamanca, Valparaíso, Viña del Mar and Concepción. And this year, three new cities will be added to the itinerary –Arica, Illapel, La Higuera and Rancagua- which will have the chance to enjoy, for the first time, the theater, dance and musical acts with the hallmark of Teatro a Mil.

Coming soon, the full program for Teatro a Mil en Bío Bío will also be announced, adding new cities to the itinerary, some of which have never formed part of the Festival.

Seven international plays, both indoor and outdoor, will be presented practically throughout the entire country: El Druida de Jagul, Human Body Parts, Las Ruedas de Colores, Beijing Opera – Essence of the Chinese culture, the Giraffes and Swoon! National companies will contribute another six productions: Brigadas, Entre gallos y medianoche, Circo de A’onde, El hombre que daba de beber a las mariposas, as well as regional companies with Las tragedias se las dejamos a Shakespeare (Valparaíso), El Pájaro de Chile (Concepción) and Baile ausente de un Arcángel (Antofagasta). All these plays will be presented in more than 30 functions throughout most of the national territory.

Antofgasta a Mil is presented thanks to the collaboration of the Municipality of Antofagasta, the auspice of the Regional Government of Antofagasta and support from the National Council for Culture and the Arts.

Teatro a Mil en Coquimbo will present its shows as part of the Festival of the Arts organized by the National Council for Culture and the Arts.

Teatro a Mil en Valparaiso is organized by FITAM, presented by the Municipality of Valparaíso and sponsored by Banco BCI.

Teatro a Mil en Rancagua is presented by the Municipality of Rancagua and the Fundación Teatro a Mil, under the auspice of the Regional Council for Culture and the Arts of the Region of Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins and support from the local newspaper, El Rancagüino.
