Mariano ha desaparecido, nadie lo vio ni habló con él. Los días pasan y no hay noticias de su paradero. Benilda, hermana y único familiar de Mariano, lo ha buscado por cielo, mar y tierra, sin obtener ningún resultado. Pero Benilda guarda aún una única esperanza de encontrar a Mariano en La fiesta de la virgen de Guadalupe de Ayquina, del cual su hermano es devoto promesante y bailarín de la Diablada. Benilda sabe que Mariano no faltaría a esta cita. Así es como ella parte en un viaje a buscarlo con la esperanza de encontrarlo, aunque ignorando que este lugar también será testigo de reencuentros que la protagonista nunca imaginó posibles.

Alejandra Rojas Pinto, actriz y directora de la Compañía La Huella Teatro. Emigra a Santiago para continuar sus estudios en la carrera de Actuación en la escuela Teatro Imagen, dirigida por Gustavo Meza. Se ha perfeccionado de manera constante en variados talleres tanto en Chile como en el extranjero, siendo transversal su encuentro con el Odin Teatret en Holstebro. A partir de este momento existe un antes y un después en el trabajo que desarrolla. Desde su concepción artística, siente al teatro como un vehículo que nos mueve, literalmente. “Cada obra es la materialización de una geografía que atravesamos física y mentalmente, en un viaje sin retorno hacia nuestro centro, como una forma de aportar a reconocer nuestra identidad de país”, comenta.

La Huella Teatro es una compañía independiente y autónoma cuyos lineamientos son la investigación, creación y puesta en escena de montajes teatrales originales con el propósito común de ser forjadores de identidad. La Huella Teatro, fundada el año 2004, lleva más de ocho años de trayectoria con proyectos de creación financiados con fondos públicos y empresas privadas, con énfasis en la autogestión.

Se trata de un teatro que recupera, investiga y que desde ahí crea, transformándose en un aporte real al desarrollo cultural del país, lo que se ve reflejado en dos de sus más destacados montajes; Xi Wang, la otra patria, Proyecto Bicentenario a la Creación de Excelencia 2007 y la investigación Antropológica Chajnantor, mirar hacia atrás, financiada en su totalidad por la empresa privada. Otros trabajos de la compañía son Botitas Negras y Allqu Yana.

Mariano has disappeared; nobody has seen him or spoken of him. Days go by without news of his whereabouts. Benilda, Mariano sister and the only family he has, has searched for him through the sky, over the sea, and across the land, without finding any luck. However, she hangs onto her hopes to meet him at the festival of the Virgin of Guadalupe de Ayquina, as her brother is a devoted follower of the festival and a Diablada dancer there. Benilda knows that this is one event that Mariano would never miss. So, she sets off on a quest to find him, little knowing that the festival will also be a place of reencounters that she had never through possible.

Alejandra Rojas Pinto is an actress and director with the La Huella Teatro company. She moved to Santiago to continue her theater training at the Teatro Imagen, directed by Gustavo Meza. She is ever keen to continue to learn, attending workshops in Chile and abroad – a particularly key experience for her was her sojourn at the Odin Teatret in Holstebro. It was a fundamental turning point in her artistic output. She sees the theater as a vehicle that moves us, in a very literal sense. “Every work is the materialization of a geography that we physically and mentally navigate, it is a one-way journey towards our own core, as a way of helping to recognize our national identity”, she says.

La Huella Teatro is an independent and autonomous company that concentrates on investigation, creation, and the staging of original productions that share the purpose of forging identity. La Huella Teatro, founded in 2004, has spent over eight years working on creative projects financed by public funds and private companies, with an emphasis on self-management.

This is about theater that recuperates, investigates, and then creates, becoming a solid contribution to the country’s cultural development – shown in two of its latest productions: Xi Wang, la otra patria, a 2007 Bicentennial Project in the Creation of Excellence, and the anthropological investigation Chajnantor, mirar hacia atrás, entirely financed by the private sector. The company has also produced Botitas Negras and Allqu Yana.
