Santiago, 18 de enero 2013.- Es uno de los estrenos más esperados del Festival, que fue creado especialmente para el ciclo Memoria 1973 – 2013. Escuela, del director y dramaturgo Guillermo Calderón (Villa+Discurso, Neva y Diciembre) se presenta hoy viernes a las 21 horas en el Teatro UC.
Con todas sus funciones agotadas, el montaje ambientado en la década de los ochenta cuenta la historia de un grupo de militantes que recibe instrucción paramilitar para derrocar a la dictadura.
La clandestinidad, la resistencia y la educación se entrecruzan en este relato inédito, que en 80 minutos retrata la actividad y aspiraciones de una generación que usó todos los medios para conseguir justicia y libertad.
La obra se presenta hoy viernes y sábado 19 de enero a las 21 horas y el domingo 20 de enero a las 20 horas, en la sala 2 del Teatro UC. Debido al masivo interés del público, las entradas para todas las funciones están agotadas. Sin embargo, quienes no pudieron acceder a este estreno, podrán hacerlo desde el 4 de abril a 1 de junio en el ciclo Teatro Hoy, que organiza la Fundación Teatro a Mil (FITAM).
Para finalizar su participación en el XX versión del Festival Santiago a Mil, Guillermo Calderón realizará un Encuentro de Trasnoche gratuito y abierto a todo público donde se explicará el proceso creativo de Escuela. La cita es el domingo 20 de enero a las 22 horas en la sala 2 del Teatro UC.
Santiago, January 18, 2013. Created especially for the Memory 1973-2013 cycle, it is one of the most anticipated plays of the Festival. Escuela, by playwright and director Guillermo Caldéron (Villa+Discurso, Neva and Diciembre), will make its debut at 9 pm tonight at the Teatro Uc.
With all of its performances sold out, the play set in the 1980’s tells the story of a group of activists who receive paramilitary training to overthrow the dictatorship.
Clandestinity, resistance and education intertwine in this original story that portrays, in just 80 minutes, the activity and aspirations of a generation that used all available means to obtain justice and freedom.
Performances will be held this Friday and Saturday, January 18-19 at 9 pm and Sunday, January 20 at 8 pm in room 2 of Teatro UC. Due to a massive public interest, tickets for all performances have been sold out. However, all those who could not attend the play can do so from April 4 to June 1 in the Teatro Hoy cycle, organized by the Fundación Teatro a Mil (FITAM).
To wrap up his participation in the twentieth Santiago a Mil Festival, Guillermo Calderón will hold a Late Night Meeting, free-of-charge and open to all spectators, where the creative process of Escuela will be explained. This event will take place on Sunday, January 20 at 10 pm in room 2 of Teatro UC.
