Esta obra narra a través de 5 juglares la aventura de un niño africano que es capturado en su país y llevado hasta Chile como esclavo. En su travesía llega a luchar por la independencia de nuestro país, pero que nunca abandona su alegría y su amor por la música y el baile, hasta que logra finalmente, ganar su propia libertad.

Francisco Sánchez Brkic es actor, músico, investigador, compositor y director de teatro. Fundador y Director de la compañía Tryo Teatro Banda desde el año 2000. 

Tryo Teatro Banda es una compañía teatral independiente e itinerante, que nació en Santiago de Chile en 2000, con tres propósitos fundamentales: crear espectáculos de autores o temáticas chilenas, itinerar a lugares alejados del circuito artístico, y combinar las artes de la actuación con la literatura y la música en vivo.
En el camino han sumado otros ideales, como incorporar a los niños y jóvenes dentro de su público objetivo, y trabajar dramatúrgicamente con episodios fundacionales de la historia de Chile, bajo una exhaustiva investigación acerca de los orígenes de nuestra identidad mestiza.

This work is narrated by five juglares or minstrels, singing the tale of an African boy captured in his homeland and brought to Chile as a slave. Along the way he fights for the country’s independence, but he never abandons his joyful nature and love for music and dance, until he finally manages to win his freedom.

Francisco Sanchez Brkic is an actor, musician, researcher, composer, and theatre director. He founded the Tryo Teatro Banda in 2000 and continues as its director.

Tryo Teatro Banda is an independent touring theatre company that was born in Santiago de Chile in 2000, with three fundamental goals: to create shows by Chilean playwrights or with Chilean themes; to tour venues far off the mainstream circuit; and to combine acting with literature and live music.

Along the way we have adopted more ideals, like incorporating children and young people in our target audience and working with the dramatic inspiration of key events in Chile’s history, as part of an exhaustive investigation into the origins of our mestizo identity.

Papelucho se ha transformado en el guardián de su hermanita. Es el único que, cada vez que la Ji desaparece o juega a ser otra persona, puede descubrir adónde se ha ido. Entonces, analiza las pistas que los demás ignoran y logra dar con ella entre las flores del jardín, en el techo de la casa o en la fuente de la plaza. La obra nos muestra el valor de la magia teatral y el poder gigante de la fe.

Investigación y asesorías en Educación Artística, especialista en Pedagogía Teatral.

La Compañía La Balanza: teatro y educación, se gestó en 1993, buscando la concreción de un espacio de investigación y difusión artística que relacionara el arte del teatro con la educación. Como profesionales del teatro, que hasta hoy trabajan activamente en las diversas áreas de la Pedagogía Teatral, decidieron unirse y constituir la Compañía La Balanza: teatro y educación.

Creen con firmeza que el teatro, como arte en funcionamiento, es un valioso recurso expresivo que posibilita la participación creativa, ayuda a la realización individual, favorece la integración grupal, enriquece los códigos de comunicación y brinda nuevas formas a los niños/as, púberes y adolescentes de integrarse a su entorno comunitario.

Papelucho has become his little sister’s guardian. He is the only one who can find out where Ji has gone when she disappears or plays at being someone else. So, he analyses the leads that the rest miss, and finds her among the flowers in the garden, on the roof of the house, or at the fountain in the main plaza. The work shows the value of the magic of theatre, and the gigantic power of faith.

Actress (1983), Director (1992), Theatre Teacher (2001), Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Associate professor of acting, directing, and theatre teaching at the PUC School of Theatre. Academic lead and manager of the PUC Diploma in Theatre Teaching (2001-2013). Former director of the PUC School of Theatre (2006-2008). Manager and director of La Balanza: teatro y educación (1993-2013), a group with which she has brought eight productions to the stage while also engaging in teaching activities and specialist publications. Research and consultancy in arts education, specialized in theatre teaching.

La Balanza: teatro y educación was formed in 1993, in a bid to forge a new leader in arts research and outreach that links the performing arts with education. This group of working theatre professionals engaged in a range of teaching activities decided to come together and form La Balanza: teatro y educación.

They hold a firm belief that the living art of the theatre is a valuable resource to engage people in creative activities, to bolster individual empowerment, to strengthen group integration, to enrich codes of communication, and to offer children and young people new ways to join with their communities.

María Cenizas, un cuento que lleva el viento es una obra para público familiar basada en versiones antiguas del cuento clásico La cenicienta, recopiladas desde la tradición oral chilena por el folklorista Yolando Pino. Dos artistas en escena, mediante el uso de música, máscaras y muñecos, invitan al público a perpetuar en el tiempo la tradición de contar cuentos y junto a los suaves acordes de la guitarra, entre décimas y arpilleras, evocan el imaginario del Valle Central de Chile y relatan la mágica vida de María, su malvada hermana Carmela y el encantador príncipe del pueblo vecino. Una Cenicienta distinta… Una Cenicienta chilena.

Fanny Fregni Da Silva, actriz licenciada en arte teatral en la U. ARCIS, con estudios en CLOWN, Juglaría y Mascaras. Desde el año 2004 dedicada a la investigación de la Poesía  Popular Chilena y el Canto a lo Humano, asistiendo a talleres con payadores y cultores chilenos. El año 2008 funda Teatro histórico La Chupilca, escribiendo para dicha compañía las obras DE LIRAS Y DELIRIOS, La Lira Popular al Teatro, LÁZARO DE TORMES, Venturas y Desventuras de un Lazarillo en Chile, MARÍA CENIZAS, Un Cuento que Lleva el Viento y las letras de la producción musical VOLANTÍN, Juegos  Musicales para  la primera infancia.

En sus 5 años de trayectoria, Teatro Histórico La Chupilca se ha enfocado en la investigación, el rescate y la divulgación de la tradición inmaterial de la cultura popular chilena. Desde distintas áreas artísticas, sus integrantes contribuyen a poner en escena nuestras tradiciones y lo que nos caracteriza a través de un lenguaje cercano y lúdico que toma elementos de la juglaría, la comedia del arte y el teatro de máscaras y muñecos para conectarse con un público familiar.

María Cenizas, un cuento que lleva el viento is a family show based on old versions of the classic story of Cinderella, compiled from Chilean oral traditions by folklore expert Yolando Pino. Two performers on stage make use of music, masks, and puppets to invite the audience to preserve and perpetuate the tradition of storytelling; to the strumming of guitars, words flow in traditional meters to evoke Chile’s Central Valley, and to tell of the magical life of María, her evil sister Carmela, and the charming prince from the next town. A different Cinderella… a Chilean Cinderella.

Elizabeth Vera Maripangui trained as an actress at U. ARCIS and studied a Master’s in Arts specializing in theatre directing at the Universidad de Chile. She is the director of Teatroanimé and an avid protector of the Mapuche storytelling tradition (epew).

Fanny Fregni Da Silva studied the performing arts at U. ARCIS, training in clowning, stories in song, and masks. Since 2004 she has been following her deep interest in Chilean popular poetry and the Canto a lo Humano tradition, attending workshops with those who perpetuate these literary forms. She founded the Teatro histórico La Chupilca company in 2008, writing the works  DE LIRAS Y DELIRIOS, La Lira Popular al Teatro, LÁZARO DE TORMES, Venturas y Desventuras de un Lazarillo en Chile, MARÍA CENIZAS, Un Cuento que Lleva el Viento for it, as well as the libretto to VOLANTÍN, Juegos  Musicales para la primera infancia.

Since its founding five years ago, Teatro Histórico La Chupilca has focused on investigating, preserving, and disseminating the intangible tradition of Chilean folk culture. Coming from backgrounds in different areas of the arts, the group’s members work together to put our traditions on the stage, to present what makes us Chilean through playful, light-hearted language that draws from juglaría minstrels, comedia del arte, and masked and puppet theatre to connect with family audiences.
